Sydney Automation Co. was founded by George Skarmoutsos, a lighting control and building automation specialist with over 15 years of hands-on industry experience across commercial, infrastructure, health, hospitality, and high-end residential projects throughout NSW.

George began his career at Clipsal, progressing through national technical support and technical sales roles within the C-Bus division. Working directly with electricians, integrators, consultants, and end users across Australia gave him a deep, practical understanding of how automation systems are specified, installed, commissioned, supported, and used in real-world environments.

Over the following decade, George worked across hundreds of live sites in specialist commissioning and delivery roles — supporting major projects from early works through to handover and ongoing service. His experience spans system design, programming, commissioning, fault-finding, system recovery, compliance rectification, and end-to-end delivery across Dynalite, C-Bus, DALI, RAPIX and Schneider systems.

Through years of working alongside multiple integrators and inheriting unstable or unsupported systems, George identified a clear gap: clients and contractors needed fast, competent, same-day automation support from someone who genuinely understands the entire system and project lifecycle.

That gap became Sydney Automation Co.

Having worked on all sides of the industry — manufacturer, integrator, contractor and client — George brings a unique end-to-end perspective to every project, ensuring systems are delivered clearly, correctly, and with long-term performance in mind.
